Hiking down to the Lake.

Now that we know how Crater lake was formed and what it left behind lets walk down the craters edge and get down to the water. The only way to get down to the water is down Cleetwood clove Trail. It is about a mile long one way and has a change in elevation of 700 feet, that makes it hard to climb down, and even harder to get back up.
Can you see the people going down the trail?

Oh good, we made it to the bottom. At the bottom of the trail there are boats waiting to take us to Wizard Island the only cinder cone that comes out of the water at Crater Lake, Phantom Island, and to see the "old man" of the lake which is a tree that lives in the lake.
All aboard the boat.
